Miracast provides a way to display your screen wirelessly to the in-room display. It is compatible with some Windows and Android devices. Directions for connecting may vary depending on the device but here is the basic outline of how to do so.
From a Windows 10 Laptop
- Choose the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter from the input or source menu for the room display.
- Open the Action Center on your laptop by tapping or clicking the icon in the bottom right corner of the screen (it looks like a speech bubble).
- In the tiles that appear, find one that says "Connect" and click on it (the image on the tile may appear to be a display with a mobile device in front of it)
- From the list of devices that appears, choose the one that has a name that matches the one shown on the room display
- Your screen should be mirrored on the room display. You can change the mode between "Duplicate" (show the same thing on your laptop and the room display) or "Extend" (use the room display like a second monitor) along with some other options by clicking the "Change projection mode" link
From an Android Device
Only some versions of the Android OS are compatible with Miracast (it seems Google may have removed compatibility in the more recent versions to "encourage" use of ChromeCast rather than Miracast...)
- To attempt connecting from your Android Device, choose the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter from the input or source menu for the room display.
- Swipe down from the top of your Android homescreen and look for an option like "Cast."
- If the name of the Wireless Display Adapter shown on the room display appears on your device, select it.
